Study Room

I thank God that we are here together in this last hour before coming of Jesus. We in this Faith Family are blessed to be equipped with a message that can rock the whole world if we are willing to do whatever it takes to DO the Word that we know and have heard.

I submit that even if the only thing that God did for us was to die for our sins so that we may avoid hell and spend rest of our eternity in heaven, then that alone is enough to motivate us to ALWAYS give thanks for each day for the rest of our lives here on earth.

Even if you never ever get blessed financially or get promoted again, you are still highly blessed because of that one thing. Even if you live in war torn or deprived area like Afghanistan or Sudan, you can in everything give thanks to God because of eternal salvation.

If you have any sense of decency or conscience, then if you never taste of another good thing for the rest of your life other than eternal salvation, you still have more than enough reason to always give thanks for all things.

I thank God for the grace and favor He helped me realize was mine in 1991. This was not the year that I got saved, it was the year that I got baptized in the Holy Spirit and got filled with the Spirit and committed my life and everything I had to Him.

It was the year that I became a man thankful to God for everything and all things. I found out later that what I did was in the Bible. It was the will of God for me to live and be this way.

In everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
(1 Thess. 5:18 NASB)

Always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father.
(Eph 5:20)

Interestingly, after I began to have a thankful heart, I discovered my destiny and my calling in God. Lots of people want to find out what God's will is for their life. Let me tell you a simple but explosive truth: If you want to discover all of the specific secret plans of God concerning your life, then start giving thanks to God.

This is an excellent place to start. As a matter of fact, I can say this one thing: You will never find out the will of God that you don't know, if you don't do the will of God that you do know.

When I say, "giving thanks to God," I don't mean empty praises and empty words. If your heart is thankful then your giving becomes radical. Look at Zaccheus in Luke 19.

You can give to God without thankful heart but you cannot be truly thankful and not give to God. Check out Mary with her alabaster box.

I couldn't resist the "temptation" to give the tithe in the winter 1991 when I became thankful. After a few weeks, I couldn't resist giving thanks offering above and beyond the 10 percent.

After a while I sowed everything that I owned because I couldn't help it. I had a home worth almost one million dollars. I had investments in Florida real estate. I had investment in a corporation, and more.

I gave it all to follow Jesus.

It seemed like nothing I gave was enough because I had a disease called "thankfulitis." By God's grace, I still have that problem. I am still thankful after all these years and I still can't give enough.

You see, you can't out-give God!

And then I noticed that most people are ungrateful. I notice that most people who have been touched by God are not thankful to God, and if they are thankful, it is for a fleeting moment. I saw this in the story of 10 lepers in Luke 17.

You know the story. God in His mercy healed all 10 but only one of them came back to thank Jesus. Jesus said, "Were there not ten cleansed? But the nine, where are they?"

Jesus then said, "And He said to him, 'Rise, and go your way; your faith has made you well'"
(Luke 17:19 NASB)
.

KJV says your faith has made you whole. The man who came back and gave thanks was not like the others. He was the above-average one. He was the uncommon man. He was the truth-faith man.

The 10 leprous men received mercy and they were cleansed of deadly disease called leprosy. But only one received more. He received wholeness.

He received regeneration of his missing parts. But he received more than just physical creative miracle. I believe a thankful heart is one of the wisdom keys that will unlock the secrets to abundant life. I can just see ex-socially undesirable becoming the desirable and the fashionable.

I could see this man who had no dreams because of his leprosy being able to dream again. I could see this man who nobody wanted to be near suddenly getting married and having a family. I could see this man become prosperous. I could see this man become a soul winner.

Yes, his faith has made him whole. And the key was the thankful heart.

Dare to be uncommon and give thanks to Him, all you who have been favored enough to be touched by God and become saved or healed or blessed. It is good to give thanks to Him!

Don't be a turkey, but rather remember to give thanks unto the Lord for it is He who gives you the power and favor to do anything good in this life.
